Stonewood Mountain Cabin is a family-friendly mountain cabin located in Mount Bain Private Nature Reserve at the foot of the Bainskloof Pass, just 90 minutes from Cape Town.
Surrounded by wild proteas, indigenous fynbos and renosterveld, the cabin boasts exceptional views of the patchwork farmlands and vineyards and the snow-dusted Mostertshoek peaks of the Breede River Valley.
Mount Bain Private Nature Reserve
Guests will have full access to the 660-ha Mount Bain Private Reserve with its captivating birds and wildlife, free-flowing rivers, streams and waterfalls and the natural beauty of its fynbos-clad mountains, valleys and nature trails.
The reserve is involved in the conservation of fynbos – about 1300 species are found here. Rare mountain leopards and caracals inhabit the upper mountain peaks, while genets, Cape clawless otters, baboons and small grey mongoose can be found on the lower slopes.
